I completely forgot to mention the Dyatlov pass incident as an inspiration but I remember thinking it was so similar, I love that they incorporated some real world events. I also love your point about the ‘she’ I think it really does indicate how female centered this season was and I just loved it. there’s an article where the showrunner Issa Lopez talks more about how it’s such a contrast starting even from the beginning, season one being men investigating women’s dead bodies and season four being the reverse, such an interesting read I’ll find the link!
